Aptitude / About us

APTITUDEforthearts is a locally rooted art project entirely dedicated to women’s artistic research.

About us

APTITUDEforthearts is an association founded by women with a passion for contemporary art, with the aim of supporting and promoting the work of Italian women artists. The association advances projects developed by women artists who engage with groups and communities of women in situations of vulnerability or need, with particular attention to marginalised women and to all female subjectivities requiring tools for support, inclusion, and empowerment.

At the heart of the project lies a reflection on the concept of “care”, understood both as an attitude and a sensibility deeply embedded in the feminine sphere, and as a commitment to actively shape and transform reality. Care thus becomes an act of social responsibility which, through artistic practice, translates into attentiveness to the needs of individuals and communities, the creation of spaces for listening and inclusion, and the fostering of processes of dialogue, awareness, and shared experience.

Through contemporary art and interdisciplinary research, the projects promoted seek to nurture pathways towards autonomy, identity, and freedom, valuing creativity not only as a tool for social transformation, but also as a practice of care, attentive listening, and meaningful engagement. The artists involved develop projects grounded in social themes, activating participatory processes, workshops, and moments of exchange that contribute to generating awareness and change. Art becomes a catalyst for inclusion and participation within local contexts, engaging communities, marginalised social groups, and vulnerable individuals in artistic practices and in the co-creation of artworks.

APTITUDEforthearts is an ETS (Ente del Terzo Settore), duly registered in the RUNTS (National Register of the Third Sector) of the Lombardy Region.
